Rail is a chair shaped like a rolling wave. It is cut from one long piece of sandstone and bent into a single smooth curve, so the back, the seat and the base flow together with no breaks. There is nothing to join and nothing to hide: the shape is the structure.
Rail: stone and finish
The white sandstone has a soft, light tone with a wood-like grain that follows the curve of the chair. Rail is polished by hand while the natural texture of the stone is kept, so it feels smooth and still looks like natural stone. Because each block has its own grain, no two Rail chairs are identical. A soft cloth is enough to keep it clean.
Where the Rail works
