Founded on a Simple Conviction
CURWE is rooted in a legacy of stone craftsmanship, built on a deep respect for one of the oldest materials known to humankind.
For over three decades, generations of artisans have refined the art of carving, shaping, and finishing natural stone by hand. This heritage now meets contemporary design through an atelier of master carvers, engineers, and designers who transform monumental stone into sculptural furniture.
Today, this enduring craft has evolved into CURWE — a contemporary stone furniture house creating timeless sculptural works for private residences, hospitality spaces, galleries, and architectural environments around the world.
Three decades of working with stone have taught us one thing: the finest forms are not imposed upon the material — they are revealed from within it.

Umang Pokharna founded CURWE after a decade working alongside quarry masters and structural engineers, convinced that stone furniture had been reduced to slabs and countertops when it was capable of so much more. His approach pairs traditional hand-carving with modern engineering — treating every project as both sculpture and structure.
