About the Portal console table
Portal is a console table with a window in it. The top rests on two legs: one is solid, and the other has a round opening cut straight through it. The circle is the only decoration, and it is enough to make the table one of a kind. Carved from red sandstone, Portal is a long, substantial console that can hold a wall on its own.
Portal: stone and finish
Red sandstone is warm and earthy, with a softly textured natural grain. Portal is polished by hand and the natural texture of the stone is kept, so the surface feels smooth without looking manufactured. The round opening is cut and finished by hand to match the rest of the table. Wipe it with a soft cloth to keep it looking its best.
Where the Portal works
Portal suits a long wall: behind a sofa, in an entrance hall, along a gallery or at the end of a corridor. The opening frames whatever sits behind it, so it works well with a mirror, a piece of art or a plant. At about 640 kg it is a heavy stone piece, so choose a spot where it can stay.
